Catholic-Informed Treatment for OCD and Scrupulosity

Helping Catholics overcome anxiety, doubt, and fear without compromising their faith.

You might be dealing with scrupulosity if…

  • You feel unsure your sins were confessed “correctly”

  • You repeatedly seek reassurance but never feel settled

  • You worry about mortal sin without clear certainty

  • Confession brings only temporary relief

  • Your spiritual life feels driven more by fear than trust

What this is...

Scrupulosity is a form of OCD that affects how a person experiences guilt, responsibility, and moral certainty.

It is not:

  • A lack of faith
  • A failure of effort
  • Something solved by trying harder

It is:

  • A treatable condition
  • Something that benefits from the right kind of help

My Approach

I specialize in treating OCD, especially scrupulosity, using:

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is the gold-standard treatment for OCD.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) , which helps you lean into uncertainty and act according to your values rather than fear.
  • Integration with Catholic moral theology, which respects conscience, sin, and the sacramental life.
  • A focus on helping you:
    • Tolerate uncertainty
    • Reduce compulsive reassurance-seeking
    • Restore peace in your spiritual life

For Clergy & Referral Sources

I welcome referrals and consultation.

Treatment is designed to:

  • Support (not replace) pastoral care

  • Reduce compulsive patterns that interfere with spiritual direction

  • Help individuals engage more fruitfully in the sacramental life

About Me

I am Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in OCD and scrupulosity.

I work primarily with individuals navigating anxiety related to OCD and moral or religious concerns, with a focus on providing care that is both clinically sound and faithful to Catholic teaching.

Ten thousand difficulties do not make one doubt.
