How I do Therapy

On this page, you can get an idea of the different approaches I use in therapy. This is by no means an exhaustive list. I always consider my patients as individuals and tailor treatment on a case-by-case basis. Click on each approach to see a more in-depth explanation of each school of therapy.

Exposure Response Prevention

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Exposure Response Prevention therapy encourages patients to face what is bothering them, head-on, in a controlled and empathic environment.  Refer to the "ERP Approach" page for more information.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

This mindfulness based approach seeks to build flexibility and resilience, while growing commitment to meaningful goals in patients' lives. Refer to the "ACT Approach" page for more information.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is concerned with how unhelpful patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors lead to mental distress. Refer to the "CBT Approach" page for more information.

Therapists' most important task is to build a relationship that will itself become the agent of change.
